IdeasUK is a not for profit, charity, membership organisation, run by our members for our members.
Our membership ranges from organisations with 250 employees up to 500,000 employees from a wide range of backgrounds and industries.

Seen by many organisations as THE employee suggestions competition worldwide, it is time once again to submit your ideas to the ideasUK Idea of the Year Competition.
The awards are changing slightly this year. We have refined the categories for 2012 to make them more relevant for organisations. The new categories and descriptions can be found below.
Sustainability
Awarded in recognition of the suggestion that demonstrates the greatest contribution to the conservation of natural resources, protecting the natural environment or sustainable project. Also ideas that benefit the community outside the business.
Health and Safety
Awarded in recognition of the suggestion that demonstrates the greatest contribution to the improvement in health and safety of products, services or the workplace.
Customer Focus
Awarded in recognition of the suggestion that demonstrates the greatest positive impact to the customer or an idea which has been developed which puts the customer first.
Continuous Improvement
Awarded in the recognition of ideas which raises the general awareness and importance of continuous improvement within the organisation and improves the way in which work is planned and implemented.
Value for Money
Awarded in recognition of the suggestion that demonstrates the greatest cost savings, cost avoidance or income generation.
Global Award
Awarded in recognition of the suggestion that demonstrated the greatest global impact for an organisation.
Innovation Award
Awarded in recognition of the suggestion which demonstrates the best in original thinking to achieve improvement. As well as truly innovative ideas, this can also include the application of existing ideas or procedures in an entirely new context.
Idea of the Year
The idea considered to be the best of all shortlisted entries.
There is no entry fee. A condition of entry is that shortlisted finalists are required to attend our conference on 8th & 9th November 2012, and finalist’s organisations are required to provide a display giving details of the idea at the Annual Conference.
All entries will be assessed by an independent panel of judges who will shortlist between 20-30 ideas and the suggestors will have an opportunity at the conference to discuss their idea with the judges during an informal session of no more than fifteen minutes.
The closing date for entries is 30th April 2012 and ideasUK members can find the entry form in the member’s area of our website.

Every year ideasUK provides a forum where experts in Suggestion and Innovation Schemes from all over the world will attend and speak and share best practice. This year its 25th International Conference will be held at the Mercure Holland House Hotel, Cardiff on the 9-10th November 2011.
ideasUK also organises the ‘Idea of the Year’ competition in recognition of the most significant ideas implemented by organisations throughout the calendar year. This competition seeks to recognise employees and organisations for their outstanding ideas. Continue reading
Annual Survey
The Annual Survey 2011 entry date has been extended!!
Once again this year we will be carrying out the survey in conjunction with our sister organisations within the USA, UAE and Germany. This is the ideal opportunity for you to benchmark your scheme with organisations worldwide. Annual Survey 2010

Don’t worry of you cannot complete all the information, or have only just started your scheme, this is an ideal opportunity for you to benchmark your scheme against other programmes worldwide. You will have to register to complete the survey, but don’t worry it only takes 2 minutes.

Well not that Christmas and the New Year is over it is time to look at the events coming up in 2010.
Firstly we have a joint networking session with the Best Practice Club in Heysham Lancashire on the 18th March, further details and how to book will be available in the near future.
International Ideas Week is from 10th – 14th this year and once again we will be holding events all over the country. If you would like some promotional material, please contact us at info@ideasuk.com
Even though it is still 11 months away, planning continues for the annual conference which this year takes place in Cardiff on the 10 / 11th November. Booking for this is now open, just contact us for costs and a booking form.
Some other dates for your diary, Idea of the Year entries are to be sent to us by the 30th April. Last year we had over 95 ideas into the competition and the ideas were of a high quality. Entry forms are available in the members area of the website.
The annual survey will be open for input in the next few weeks, we will send you a link to the website when it is available.

Well that was that, our last conference in Chester for the next few years and what a conference it was!
Although we were down in numbers on previous year’s it was still a conference that will be remembered for the sheer quality of speakers. All three keynote speakers were recieved well by all delegates and an interesting question and answer session followed each session.
The workshop sessions were once again excellent and who could forget the ‘game’ delivered by Diageo together with the free samples!
Put simply there was something for everyone this year and the feedback has been very positive.
The Idea of the Year Competition was once again a great Success and a big well done to Kevin Rust from BT for Winning the overall award.
